Our Story
What started as a practical solution to maximize the value of wood byproducts has grown into a trusted source of premium kiln-dried firewood for customers across the country.
In 2016, our firewood operation began as a way to utilize corner rounds generated by our sawmill operations. Rather than letting valuable wood resources go unused, we invested in our first firewood packaging machine and began producing packaged firewood from a small corner of our North Campus facility.
As demand grew, so did the opportunity. What began as a modest operation quickly gained momentum, driven by customers seeking a reliable, high-quality firewood product. Over the next several years, we continued refining our processes and building the foundation for future growth.
A major milestone came in 2020 when operations moved into a dedicated firewood facility at South Campus. With investments in specialized firewood kilns and processing equipment, production capacity expanded significantly, allowing us to serve larger customers and ship products nationwide. Later that year, we partnered with two major retail chains, further accelerating the growth of the business.
Over the following years, continued investments in kiln-drying technology, processing equipment, and operational capabilities transformed firewood from a secondary use of mill byproducts into a dedicated business. Product offerings also expanded, including the introduction of specialty products such as the Swedish Torch Log.
Today, our firewood operation continues to build on the same principles that inspired its start: maximizing resources, reducing waste, and delivering a high-quality product backed by exceptional service. From a single packaging machine in 2016 to a thriving nationwide operation, our commitment remains the same: turning valuable wood resources into dependable firewood for our customers and communities.

2016
Firewood operations begin as a way to utilize corner rounds generated by sawmill operations. The first firewood packaging machine is installed and operated at North Campus.
2020
Operations move into a dedicated firewood facility at South Campus. Two firewood-specific kilns and a Multitek processor are added, significantly increasing production capacity.
Late 2020
Partnerships with two major retail chains help expand distribution and establish a nationwide footprint.
2021-2022
The operation grows rapidly, expanding to 19 kilns and 4 processors to meet increasing demand.
2023
Introduction of the Swedish Torch Log, expanding the firewood product portfolio.
August 2026
Launch of the FLINT brand, marking the next chapter in the company’s evolution and reinforcing its position as a trusted supplier of premium kiln-dried firewood.
